About Me
My name is Akshath Krishna
My biggest dream is to bridge the gaps in healthcare inequity in the United States. I want to become a doctor to conduct clinical research on pressing issues in underserved communities, making healthcare truly equitable.
This mission is deeply personal: my family's struggles with chronic heart issues ignited my passion for heart health in these demographics, guiding my future specialty.
My goal is clear: to raise awareness and promote vital research through this platform.
My bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish allows me to create impactful campaigns, reaching communities often affected by healthcare bias.
I'll consider my work done when we see a measurable rise in awareness for disparities in healthcare in communities, a goal I know we can achieve with the help of dedicated teens.

My Mission
My mission is to address and bridge healthcare disparities by educating communities, empowering youth, and advocating for equitable access to vital health information and resources.
I am committed to fostering a future where every individual, regardless of their background, possesses the knowledge and support necessary to achieve optimal cardiovascular health.

My Background & Experience
My journey has provided me with a unique blend of experiences that fuel my commitment to health equity:

Clinical & Patient Care
As a Lab Clerk at Howard University Hospital, I've clocked over 250 hours handling technical work like spinning blood samples and documenting lab orders.

Research Acumen
I'm also a clinical research assistant at Johns Hopkins Medicine where I've gained experience in breast cancer research and further patient care experience.

Language & Communication
My certification in bilingual literacy in Spanish is a key asset in bridging communication gaps and reaching a wider audience, especially those often underserved in healthcare.
